Year
2025
Medium
LED text installation, 96 × 16 cm
Exhibition
A group exhibition curated in response to escalating political and societal fragmentation, both globally and locally. Organized by The Artist At Play, the show examines the role of Bulgarian contemporary art in engaging with political realities. While young artists often explore global conflicts and identity-based themes, A/POLITICAL asks where the local voice resides.

In a world where silence is too often mistaken for neutrality, DIS/VOICED inhabits the fragile space where language fails–where speech is swallowed, and sound is no longer a guarantee of presence.
The work is not simply a commentary–it is a condition:
of speaking without sound,
of screaming without response,
of presence without expression.
Here, the voice has not vanished–it has been denied. It has been disempowered, stripped of volume and context, and rendered invisible. The installation uses a continuous LED text stream to evoke this loss: words appear without tone, without breath, without body. The voice becomes digital–cold, distant, yet unignorable. It does not echo–it illuminates. And in its glow, it insists on being seen, if not heard.
DIS/VOICED is a dedication to those who speak but remain unheard. To those whose words dissolve in the noise of public space. To those who still have something to say but have learned that there is no one listening. This is not the absence of voice. It is silencing–voluntary, imposed, internalized.
This is not silence.
It is dis/voicing.
