Choose Your Future is an interactive art installation that critiques the growing dominance of virtual reality and digital environments in shaping human interaction and social norms, particularly in the context of the Metaverse. The work features three identically framed QR codes beneath a bold vinyl prompt:
“CHOOSE YOUR FUTURE – No more secrets! Pick one, scan and find out.”

This call to action mirrors the illusion of meaningful choice in the digital age, seducing viewers into participating. However, scanning any of the QR codes reveals the same stark message on a black background:
“The future is f*cked.”

This punchline subverts expectations and emphasizes the perceived inevitability of a dystopian digital monoculture. The installation critiques the superficial nature of virtual interaction, highlighting the risk of losing authentic human connection in pursuit of technological immersion.

Through this minimalist yet provocative gesture, Choose Your Future invites viewers to reflect on the consequences of surrendering to a fully virtual existence and to reconsider the balance between digital progress and real-world presence.
